In the Amazon, the largest and broken stretches rainforest in the world,
half of all the rain water that falls,
become some clouds produced by the trees themselves.
With so much rain,
its not surprising that many of the world’s largest rivers are found in rainforests.
Inside the forest,
the high humidity creates the perfect conditions for the strange world
where life is build on decay.
An amoeba like slime molds cruise the surface
feeding on bacteria and rotting vegetation.
Fungus also flourish on decay.
These are the fruiting bodies of the fungus.
The only visible sign are the vast underground network of fungal filaments.
In temperate forest,
the build up of leaf litter creates rich store of nutrients,
but however that doesn't happen here.
